COVID Protection Framework Update

As you will be aware, the new Covid-19 Protection Framework (Traffic Light System) came into effect at 2359hrs last night. This will directly affect clubs such as EBYMBC and the Management Committee has worked its way through the various government announcements and guidance over the last few weeks to confirm a COVID-19 position for the Club.

In considering how to respond to this new framework we have considered a number of factors including the health and safety of our staff, volunteers and members, along with understanding how best to ensure the ongoing financial security for the Club.

Due to the restrictions in the Protection Framework, the Management Committee has made the decision that access to all facilities at EBYMBC will require a person to be fully vaccinated and hold a valid My Vaccine Pass. This requirement applies to all areas of the EBYMBC grounds from the southern fence of the Trailer Park to the northern fence of the Hardstand. This requirement will apply equally to our members, and members of our affiliated clubs who wish to use the Club’s facilities.

We realise the choice to get vaccinated or not is a personal one, and we respect that. However, for EBYMBC to continue to succeed, we need to be open and operating safely, and vaccination certificates are a key factor for us to be able to do so.

We hope you understand the reasons for this decision and support the stance EBYMBC is taking.

We appreciate this will change the way members interact with the Club facilities, but it is important that members abide by these requirements. The Management Committee will be working with the General Manager to help implement these requirements and will support him with checking My Vaccine Pass status over the coming weeks.

Please be aware that while we need to restrict access to our grounds, we have no authority over the public access way to the water between the road and public wharf immediately east of the Clubhouse, as well as along the water front of the Trailer Park. People will remain free to use this in accordance with the rules of gatherings in public spaces.
