146 boats were out on Evans Bay in Wellington over the weekend to compete in the Evans Bay Yacht & Motor Boat Club's Centenary Regatta.

The regatta was a great way to not only celebrate EBYMBC's centenary, but also a celebration of the diversity of Wellington and New Zealand yachting, with entries ranging from the juniors in Optis, P Class, Bics and Starlings, through the full range of centreboard classes including Finns, Lasers, Paper Tigers, Sunbursts and Zephyrs. Along with a varied fleet of trailer yachts and keelboats, there was a type of yacht out there for everyone!

Saturday turned on a stunning Wellington day with clear blue skies and not a breath of wind, a perfect day to do any outdoor activity, except yachting! After a couple of fingers of breeze came through and a movement of the senior course area, some great racing was held before some even greater stories were told back in the clubhouse.

Sunday dawned with the same blue skies and a couple of decorative clouds with 12-15kt northerly. Two races were held in the building breeze and some fantastic rides were had before racing was completed just after midday.

Full results from the regatta can be found on the Centenary Regatta webpage.
